Directions: Venue - USFWS Regional Office

Directions: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Northeast Regional Office, 300 Westgate Center Drive. Hadley, Massachusetts

  • AIR TRANSPORTATION:  Bradley International Airport (Hartford, Connecticut) is the closest airport with regular flights serving the Hartford, Connecticut and Springfield, Massachusetts area. It is located between Hartford and Springfield off I-91. Driving time to the Regional Office is approximately 50 minutes. Major rental car services are available at the airport; this is probably the best way to get to Hadley. Otherwise a limousine/shuttle service is available with Valley Transporter (1-800-872-8752 or 413-253-1350). Reservations are required. You will need to call for rates.

Driving Directions: To get to Hadley from Bradley Airport and all points south:

  • Take I-91 north approximately 35 miles to Exit 19 (Northampton, Hadley, UMass). Take Route 9 east over the Calvin Coolidge Bridge towards Hadley/Amherst (about 4 miles). Continue on Route 9; you will pass McDonalds, Howard Johnsons, and then Staples (office supply store). At the intersection with Route 116 north, just beyond Staples (at the traffic lights), take a right onto Westgate Center Drive. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is the large three-story brick building just beyond the UMass Five College Credit Union. If you see Chili's Restaurant on your left, you have gone too far.
From Boston or other points east of Hadley via I-90 (Mass. Turnpike):
  • Take Exit 8 (Palmer/Amherst), go right on Route 32 south, take a right on Route 20 west, then take a right onto Route 181 north (through Belchertown). Take a left onto Route 9 west (through Amherst and into Hadley) and turn left at the intersection of Route 9 and 116 north, just before Staples (office supply store). It is approximately 23 miles to the Regional Office (35 minutes).
From Central (Albany) New York and points west of Hadley via I-90 (Mass. Turnpike):
  • Take Exit 4 (West Springfield, MA) to I-91 north. Take I-91 north approximately 13 miles to Exit 19 (Northampton, Hadley, UMass). The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is the large three-story brick building behind the UMass Five College Credit Union. If you see Chili's Restaurant on your left, you have gone too far.
From I-91 southbound:
  • Take exit 25 (Deerfield - about 30 minutes from the VT/MA border). Follow the signs -- several turns -- to Route 116 south. Take Route 116 south through Deerfield, across the Connecticut River into Sunderland, across a corner of Amherst and into Hadley. Route 116 will stop at a T-type intersection with Route 9. The Regional Office is straight ahead on Westgate Center Drive (through the intersection - three-story brick building just beyond the UMass Five College Credit Union). Staples (office supply store) is off to the right.

Parking: The visitor’s parking lot is in front of the Regional Office (on the right as you drive down entrance road). Visitors should enter through the front door and be prepared to show identification and sign in. If the visitor’s lot is full, it is fine to park in the employee lot in the back of the building but visitors should walk around to the front visitor’s entrance.
