This training is designed for partners to: (1) Learn more about the LCC tools that are currently available or are soon to be released, (2) provide an opportunity to start using the tools on conservation challenges with the assistance of LCC facilitators, and (3) provide feedback to the LCC on how the tools are functioning or could function better to address field needs.
Specifically, the workshop will review the Riparian Restoration Decision Support Tool, which allows managers and decision-makers to rapidly identify and prioritize areas along the banks of rivers, streams, and lakes for restoration, making these ecosystems more resilient to disturbance and future changes in climate; and the Assessing Future Energy Development across the Appalachians web-based mapping tool that allows policy makers, land management agencies, industries, and others to see where development may likely occur and intersect with important natural values to inform regional landscape planning decisions.
