First blog from the new SECAS Coordinator

SECAS staff are excited to welcome new coordinator Amanda Sesser! She is looking forward to applying her experience with multi-stakeholder, landscape-scale conservation planning and implementation efforts among over 30 partners from Alaska and Northwest Canada, including federal agencies, four states/provinces, Indigenous communities, research institutions and non-governmental organizations. She has also worked with over a dozen states and 19 countries to help organizations, communities, and governments better understand, manage, and adapt to social and ecological changes. Most recently, she has been coordinating the Strategic Conservation Assessment of Gulf Coast Landscapes from her home base in New Orleans, Louisiana. Progress on transitioning South Atlantic communications over to SECAS

Last November, Hilary blogged about our plan to transition relevant South Atlantic resources over to SECAS this year. We’ve already migrated over the monthly climate and conservation coffee event, as well as the Third Thursday web forum. As for everything else–the South Atlantic website, newsletter, Simple Viewer, and Conservation Planning Atlas–we’re still on track to sunset them and replace each one with a streamlined SECAS version by the release of the 2022 Southeast Blueprint this fall.
